Runners and riders for a Juddmonte International thriller at York

Six runners, with 13 Group 1 wins between them, will line up in Wednesday’s Juddmonte International Stakes (3.15), the feature on day one of the Ebor festival at York.

Favourite Ghaiyyath will attempt to continue an outstanding season, having won the Coronation Cup before lowering the colours of Enable when scoring in the Eclipse at Sandown.

On Wednesday, he faces a high-quality field including Lord North – impressive winner of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot – and outstanding mare Magical. All three head to York unbeaten so far this term.

This season’s 2,000 Guineas winner Kameko races over 1m2f for the first time for Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy. The three-year-old was an unlucky fourth in the Sussex Stakes last time and gets 7lb in weight allowances from the favourite.

Aspetar, a course-and-distance winner in the Group 2 York Stakes last time out, represents Roger Charlton with Jason Watson booked to ride.

Musidora Stakes winner Rose Of Kildare completes the line-up.
